Samara Can Be A Place of Rest… or Adventure!

A Samara Costa Rica vacation offers something for almost everyone. Relaxation, restaurants, tours, water sports, nature hikes, and places to enjoy the company of friends and listen to live music. Samara is off the beaten path, so beaches are not crowded and nightlife isn’t an all-night party affair, but it’s a fun place to be.

Samara, Costa Rica exhibits a variety of exotic plants and animals which can be found along the five kilometer strip of Samara Beach, along with a stunning coral reef that lies just offshore. In town, you will find everything from a supermarket to a number of gift stores, bars and nightclubs as well. Samara is perfect location for a quiet holiday or a night out on the town.

West along the bay at Cangrejal, a reef attracts stingrays and tropical fish. In Sámara Bay, Chora Island’s wildlife reserve has pink sand and shelters marine birds. North, Playa Buena Vista is a sea turtle nesting site. The Buena Vista estuary mangroves are home to crocodiles and herons.

While in Samara, you might consider a tour to Isla Chora, a tiny, deserted island that juts out of the water about a mile off the Samara coastline. You can kayak or take a boat. Once there, enjoy snorkeling over a stunning coral reef filled with beautiful, multi-colored tropical fish and other underwater scenes.

Or, plan a visit to Playa Carrillo, which is located about eight kilometers south of Samara. It can be a very nice day trip. Just drive or hop into a taxi in Samara and enjoy this stunning stretch of white sand speckled with palm trees.
